Preparation of ZnMgAl-Layered Double Hydroxide and Rice Husk Biochar Composites for Cu(II) and Pb(II) Ions Removal from Synthetic Wastewater

The efficiency of a new composite material the layered double hydroxide (LDH) ZnMgAl and rice husk biochar (RHB) for removal Cu(II) Pb(II) ions from synthetic wastewater was investigated in this study. images scanning electron microscope showed extremely fine crystalline LDH particles decorated on rough surface RHB, while successful formation adsorbent (LDH/RHB) confirmed by corresponding energy dispersive X-ray Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. An equilibrium contact time 30 15 min Cu2+ Pb2+, respectively, proposed optimum performance batch adsorption process. dose LDH/RHB optimized at 0.4 g L−1 yielding maximum capacities 117 124 mg g−1 with efficiencies nearly 94% 99%. A solution pH 6.0 yielded results an increasing trend percentage changing 2.0 to 7.0.
